Crusade 30- part 2

Well, this month's crusade has proven to be a BIG challenge for me. Crusade #30, Cat Got Your Tongue? Michelle Ward's Street Team is always a blast, and a learning experience and this time is no exception. I have been skittish about writing over my images but I think I'm getting past it. This one started as an original poem inspired by a lifelong friend I met as a child. I typed it and reversed most of it so it wouldn't be distracting because there's alot going on here lol!
Then I added a recent pen sketch, of course I can't leave anything alone so I added a layer of collage for pure texture Oh!  all those wonderful nooks and crannys . . . .

jane - this is fabulous! great face, great effect to reverse the text. it's all so murky and mysterious. thanks for sharing this style with the team - an interesting way to add words.

Jane, VERY wonderful nooks and crannies - I love all the layers! It is scary to write on top of your images - you take a deep breath and jump, and hopefully you land in the cool, refreshing water! (Taking photos and making photocopies of the work in progress is how I hold my own hand through the process!)

Now, see, this is incredible. Nicely done, taking the chance at adding words! The layers are amazing.

Jane, you're showing us why these crusades are so great. This is fabulous! I know that being pushed by the crusades has openned new avenues for me. I can see you doing more of this. I love it.

Now I'm curious to decipher the poem! I like the blocks of color in the sketch too.

What a great idea, to reverse the text! It is there, and YOU know what it says, but it doesn't steal the show. Great portrait on this page.
