Hi blogging friends, I hope you're all doing well and enjoying the Season. It's been cold here (anything below 45˚ is considered the 'deep freeze' lol!) dh has just returned from a long business trip and I've been shopping, cooking, decorating etc. I did manage to get a few experimental sketches done, though. Recently I've been exploring a 'scratchy' technique, where I leave in some or all of the construction lines, it adds a 'primitive' look which I find rather interesting. I also like the unfinished effect. One thing I also like to do is scan and print an unfinished sketch and then work on it again with no fear of ruining the original. This one is a pen sketch with watercolor added.
Next is an Inktense sketch using gold for the first layer and a darker orange for the details.
Finally another pen sketch with a mix of sepia and gold to warm it up. I've mailed all of my packages and finished my Christmas cards. Now I'm off to buy some stamps and pop them all in the mail.

ReplyDeleteI know I probably said this before but I could just keep staring at your sketches all day. Their always so beautiful and I love the look of the lines in these. And we're pretty cold down here in south florida too. Stay warm.

Oh my, these sketches are just lovely! I have some of those Inktense pencils but haven't really used them. I love this loose sketching - very evocative!
